Melanie Crossley (Buckley) is the third generation of a dog showing family.

She was born and raised in South Australia with Cocker Spaniels, American Cocker Spaniels and Irish Setters. Melanie’s first dog of her own was an American Cocker Spaniel bred by her Grandmother. She later exhibited German Shorthaired Pointers, a Dobermann and finally found her heart breed in Scottish Deerhounds.
 
Melanie has owned and bred Deerhounds under the Fyrth kennel name in the Canberra for over 20 years. She has had great success in the conformation show ring, having handled all three of the Supreme Champion Deerhounds in Australia to their titles with multiple Best in Show wins at both All Breeds and Breed Specialty shows. Melanie has also been involved in obedience, agility and now Sprint Dog (100m straight sprints) which the Deerhounds really love!
 
Health testing is a priority for Fyrth Deerhounds. We want all our dogs to be both mentally and physically sound and that starts with health testing, great socialisation and a fantastic, high-quality dog food. For over 10 years, we have been feeding Black Hawk and are extremely proud of the condition of all of our dogs on the product. Black Hawk has been fabulous for our large breed and there is a food variety to support all stages of growth. All our puppies go home to their new families with Black Hawk puppy packs that contain enough food to get them settled into their new lives. Black Hawk is always developing new and improved products across their range and our hounds especially appreciate the fantastic range of treats available!
